How to use the incline on a treadmill safely and effectively

Many beginners will often get on a treadmill and run at a fast speed and high incline but this can be detrimental to say the least. If used incorrectly it can lead to an injury and if used to often it can lead to overtraining, overtraining would jeopardize your weight loss goals as it makes your immune system weak

On the treadmill the average incline is between 0-15%, for most beginners running at a level 0% and at a jogging speed of 5-6 miler per hour is enough to make you lose all the weight you want and get in shape for any race or marathon you want to take part in. increasing the incline is also a good way to workout but it should be done only if you can run non stop on flat ground for 15 minutes or more. Always remember that a treadmill incline should never be equated to running hills outside. It is not the same for the simple fact that running hills comes with a changing ground and environment, whereas it is flat with a treadmill. The incline on a treadmill also does not give you the option of running downhill which by itself is an excellent weight loss workout

So if you intend to take part in a race out doors that uses a hilly track , running out doors using the incline on the treadmill is not the best option to use You may alternate between running the treadmill incline on days the weather and elements don’t permit you and running outside on hills when you cam. Either way treadmill inline training can help you achieve your running and weight loss goals if use properly

So always run outside before running on the treadmill
